Waste Water Treatment

University Center for Research manages and assist with funding for new technologies and products for wastewater treatment and process industry. University Center for Research is working closely with the researchers and developed wastewater treatment plants to scale up, test, validate and deploy the new products.

2015 – 2018 - Biotic wastewater treatment technology and research project

This research project goal is to use cheap and natural materials to remove nitrogen and phosphorus from the sewage waters and to prevent them going into the environment. Excess nitrogen and phosphorus in lakes and streams leads to increasing the harmful algal blooms of the water, contributes to a loss of biodiversity in these ecosystems and endangers human health through the production of toxins that can contaminate drinking water resources.

The pilot scale of the biotic wastewater treatment system is finished and received high interest and appreciation among the wastewater plans in China.

University Center for research is actively working with industry partners and researches to scale up the pilot-scale system.
